Framing

I've been excited about going up to Summerfield all week. We finally made it up there this afternoon.  My pieces turned out so pretty!  Ginger does such a great job.

Temptations

Oh man!  ABC Stitch Therapy has 20% off their whole site and it ends today!  This is so tempting because a lot of online stores have "sales" but they don't always put everything on sale.  I have been obsessing over the Sampler of Stitches by Drawn Thread.  I might go for it at 20% off.

And speaking of temptations.  I received the whole kit and caboodle to start BBD's Feast of Friendship.  How pretty are these colors!!!

Can I bring myself to take a break on VoHRH?  I feel sort of compelled to concentrate on it and only it (weird huh?).

Getting better

I can't believe the Thanksgiving holiday has come and gone.  Seems too quick!  Not to mention the fact that we were all sick.  :(

Still our little household has been spending quality time together and enjoying the time off from work.

Look at my pretty Christmas Cactus, it's full of blooms!

Oh course I have to share some food pictures.  I am so proud of my turkey!  I do not really care for turkey and have never roasted one.  So when it came to the task, I turned to Cooks Country for the recipe.  I chose one using the technique called barding.  It involves covering the turkey in salt pork, a technique going back to the turn of the century.

Looks like bacon but I promise, it's salt pork.

Tah Dah!

Feast for three, not the prettiest of table set ups.  I did my best considering being so sick.

David's plate.  Both he and my neighbor remarked it was the most tender and moist turkey they'd ever had.

Speaking of turkeys...this smiley girl doesn't look sick.

And my progress on Hawk Run Hollow.  I have finished Block 3 and now on to 4.

And with everyone being sick, we have empty Kleenex boxes.

Just a quick snap of my progress on the Village of Hawk Run Hollow. Nearly there on block three.

Slow stitching

It's been slow stitching the past couple of weeks.  The end of the month marked Lena's birthday quickly followed by Halloween.  Needless to say, I got next to zero stitching done.  This past week or so I have been under the weather, so again...very little stitching.  But I have made some progress on my Villages of HRH plus I got my stockings back from the finisher.

I finished block two. I just love the trees and the stained glass.

Here's my progress overall.

And now the stockings.  I'm really loving how they turned out.

Seems a shame they have to get packed away for a few more weeks.  But I don't decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving.  So in a couple of weeks, I'll pull them back out and give them a light ironing.
