Birthday Weekend

What a busy weekend!  No stitching updates to report. (Village of HRH is coming along very slowly)  It was my little girl's first birthday!  We had a great time with all our family and friends.

Here is her beautiful cake baked and decorated by a friend.

And it's the Birthday Girl, taking a break from her favorite toy.

Let the feast begin...actually she was quite hesitant to dig in.

She eventually got the hang of it.

We all got birthday "tattoos"

Her first "big girl" doll, from mommy and daddy.

Highlights of the weekend...hanging out with her Aunt Katy

And being able to crawl in the little doggies BIG bed. (she thought this was hilarious)

Pumpkin Day

We had a pumpkin filled day today.  This morning we went to the Farmers Market.  They have a great selection of pumpkins and gourds.  They also build a little pumpkin house for the kids, we couldn't resist a few pictures.  And then after lunch we stopped by the church where Lena goes to weekday school and tromped around their pumpkin patch.

Hanging out the window.

She's no wallflower.

Exploring the pumpkin patch.

I want this one...

No wait..I can reach it...this one.

Love my mummy..

In a Halloween Mood

I love fall and I love Halloween.  I put up my fall/Halloween decorations in September.  And now I've decorated the dog and the baby.

Look at Asta's bandana.  The reverse has little ghosts.

Lena has Halloween pj's.

That glow in the dark!

I also started work on this Boo Wreath out of the JCS Halloween issue.

Me wrapping the wreath in yarn.

I think it turned out great!

Sense of Accomplishment

Yesterday I ran my first 5k since grad school, buying a house and having Lena.  It felt so great to be out there running again. (despite the course being difficult).

I have also made a lot of progress on my stitching.
This is my initial for my oval box.  Cute huh?

Here's my October Box by Cherished Stitches.  It's a project for my local EGA chapter.  To the right of the house will be the year, I always save that for absolute last.

This is the whole piece, It will roll up/fold up into a box when it is finished.

Finally back to Hawk Run Hollow.  This is block one of the Village of Hawk Run Hollow by Carriage House.
