Weekend Recap

This three day weekend just flew by.  But we had some good family time.  It was nice of David to take a a break and hang out.  We did some much needed gardening.  I planted some of my seedlings after David helped with the weeding.  We went the farmer's market and bought more plants and some fresh strawberries.  And since it was super warm this weekend,  we got Lena's wading pool (a shower gift from a co-worker of David's) and let Lena splash around.

So busy..not much stitching done this weekend. :(

Trying out some sunglasses.  These will be great in and out of the pool.

Someone learned how to splash...got mommy wet too.

After fun in the pool...

And while Lena was splashing, Asta got to chase some chickens.

Delicious strawberry treat!

Vanilla Bean Custard Ice Cream.  Yummy!

Special Times

The past couple of weekends have been big ones for my little family.

On the 13th I celebrated my first Mother's Day. Here's the super cute card my sister found.

And pretty flowers from my husband.

Thanks to him and my mom & big sis for making me feel loved and special.

Then last weekend Lena was baptized at First Presbyterian. Her gown was very special in that we bought it in Italy back on our honeymoon in 2008.  I'll put up a close up of the gown when I get one.  The lace is very pretty.  We bought it on the island of Burano where they do handmade lace.

Still Going

Seems like I've been working on this Quaker piece forever.  But now that I'm in the center area,  the motifs get a lot more interesting.

In the meantime, I have finished Lena's sampler.  I just love it!  I'm so glad Louise designed a piece that wasn't all teddy bears and little lambs.  Love it!

Obviously I'll keep going on the Quaker but I have a couple of cute Bent Creek pieces for Lena's room.  And I've also received all the materials for the Village of Hawk Run Hollow.   Maybe I should finish the Quaker first?
