Just a quick share

I started Lena's birth sampler yesterday.  Seems silly but that green outline was super slow going.  I think I triple checked every stitch so as to make sure it would line up.  I still had to pull out the last quarter of it.  But that's the worst part over.  Now I will work on this in between working on my Christmas Quaker piece.

Thanks Louise (of Cherished Stitches) for giving me this pattern and taking my suggestion to do a birth sampler for your October release.  I can't wait to see it progress.

The colors are a little off because the light in David's office isn't so great. If you want to see what it's going to look like is Angela's Birth Sampler by Cherished Stitches.

Finishes

Okie dokie...back from the framers.  I finally got my Birds of a Feather Mystery Sampler framed this past week.  I think it turned out great!  Yesterday I finished stitching Lena's stocking...that makes 2 down and 2 to go.

I just love how this turned out.

And while my stocking has been completed, I finally got around to adding my name.

Ginger and David did a great job picking out the colors.

Here's the total look.

Whirlwind Weekend

What a busy weekend! It was Easter weekend so I spent a lot of time cooking. We had a wonderful dinner here at the house with our friend Heather. Also this weekend Lena tried some homemade baby food for the first time.

Here is a cream cheese filled coffee cake that I made for Easter morning. I knew we'd be in a rush, we usually are on Sunday mornings.

Here she is Easter morning, couldn't really get any happy pictures. She wasn't feel too well in the morning.

But she soon cheered up later that afternoon.

Easter dinner spread...someone's ready to eat.

It was a delicious dinner, sorry but I just have to brag.

And for dessert...some carrot cake. Seemed appropriate for Easter.

Now on to the baby food...
Making carrot baby food with leftover carrots from my cake.

Tah dah!

Yesterday I made some peas.

And here's daddy making a MESS with carrots. It was hilarious! She is really starting to take to food and likes carrots (unlike me).

Christmas is getting closer...

It really seems like these two projects are taking a long time. I am still working on Mary Beale's Sampler Stocking VII and Happy Christmas by Carolina House Designs.

This is actually a large portion of the stocking. I'm about to start edging out to form the toe of the stocking.

And very slowly I am making my way around this sampler.
